We will try to contact directly the machine that is connected to the weather station, and retrieve from it the last measurements taken (which should have ocurred less than 60 seconds ago). The whole process should not take more than a few seconds, but it all depends on how healthy is the network connection between this web server (of this page that you are reading) and the weather station on one hand, and your location on the other.
